In September 2001, the New Baltimore Police Department and Anchor Bay School District created a School Resource Officer (SRO) position to work as a liaison between law enforcement and our schools’ students and staff.

Serving as a positive role model and supporter of school events and activities, the SRO goes beyond the traditional roles of a police officer to also serve as an educator, counselor, community advisor, and resource for crime prevention programs.
